What does a session look like?

During an assisted stretching session, you’ll relax on a comfortable table while I guide your body through targeted stretches designed to improve flexibility, reduce tension, and restore balance.

You’ll remain mostly passive as I move your limbs through a full range of motion, occasionally asking you to engage specific muscles briefly during techniques like PNF stretching.

Every movement is controlled and tailored to your individual needs, ensuring a safe and effective experience.

When specific areas of the body are restricted, or muscle tissue is too dense, I may also incorporate the use of a Hypervolt Massage Gun to help loosen up the muscles and increase blood flow. This can help make those muscles more receptive to stretching, allowing for greater progress and comfort during the sesion.

FAQ's

What is assisted stretching?

Assisted stretching is a hands-on technique where a trained professional helps you stretch to improve your flexibility, range of motion, and posture.

FAQ image

How is assisted stretching different from stretching on my own?

With assisted stretching, I guide your body into deeper and more effective stretches than you're likely to be able to achieve on your own. It also helps target tight or compensating muscles you may not know need attention.

FAQ image

Do I need to be flexible to start?

Not at all! Assisted stretching is designed to meet you where you are. Many clients start with limited flexibility and actually use this as a stepping stone towards getting back into an exercise routine, or even before starting yoga.

FAQ image

What can I expect during a session?

During a session, you’ll lie on a comfortable table while I guide your body through various stretches. You’ll remain mostly passive, though I may ask you to engage specific muscles briefly during techniques like proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF). Each session is customized to your body’s needs, with a focus on relieving tension, improving flexibility, and restoring balance.

FAQ image

What is PNF Stretching?

PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) stretching is a technique that combines passive stretching with brief muscle contractions to improve flexibility and range of motion. During a PNF stretch, I’ll guide your limb into a stretch, ask you to gently contract the muscle being stretched for a few seconds, and then relax it as we move deeper into the stretch. This method helps reset the muscle’s stretch reflex, allowing for greater gains in flexibility over time.

FAQ image

I have a past injury. Can I still do assisted stretching?

Yes! My background in corrective exercise allows me to safely work with clients recovering from injuries. So long as you have been cleared by your Physician/Physical Therapist/Ortho to return to exercise, or to follow a stretch routine, you will be in good hands. I tailor the session to your needs and avoid any movements that might aggravate your condition.

FAQ image

How soon will I see results?

Most clients notice immediate improvements in flexibility and range of motion after just one session. Long-term benefits, such as better posture and reduced muscle imbalances, often develop with consistent sessions over a few weeks. Significant results should be expected in 3-6 months of weekly sessions.

FAQ image

Can assisted stretching help with posture?

Absolutely. Assisted stretching can release tight muscles that pull your body out of alignment. Combined with corrective techniques, we can address postural issues effectively. I myself have spent the past 4 years improving my own posture, and share many valuable strategies with my clients during our sessions.

FAQ image

Is assisted stretching safe for older adults?

Yes, assisted stretching is gentle and safe for all ages. It’s especially helpful for older adults to maintain mobility, reduce stiffness, and stay active. Many of my clients are older adults, and you can see some of their reviews on Google!

FAQ image

Is this Painful?

No. Assisted Stretching should never be painful. You may feel mild discomfort as we stretch tight areas, but I always work within your comfort zone to avoid pain. Stretching should feel productive, not painful.

FAQ image

What should I wear to a session?

Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Avoid anything too tight or restrictive.

FAQ image

How is this different from Massage?

Massage therapy primarily focuses on soft tissue, such as muscles, using techniques like kneading and pressure to reduce tension, increase circulation, and promote relaxation.

Assisted stretching, on the other hand, targets the connective tissues, such as fascia, as well as improving the flexibility and range of motion in your joints.

By guiding your body through controlled stretches, assisted stretching helps lengthen tight muscles and release restrictions in the fascia, which is the web-like tissue that surrounds and supports your muscles and organs.

Unlike massage, you’ll stay fully clothed during an assisted stretching session, and you’ll often be more engaged as I may ask you to contract specific muscles briefly during techniques like PNF stretching.

Assisted Stretching does not in any way replace massage therapy. In fact, they complement each other very well.

Massage helps relax tight muscles, making them more receptive to stretching, while stretching can help maintain the flexibility and mobility gained through massage.

Many clients find combining the two approaches leads to even greater improvements in how they feel and move.

FAQ image

How long are the sessions?

Sessions typically last between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on your needs and goals.

FAQ image

How much does a session cost?

Session pricing depends on length and frequency. Check out my pricing page for details and package options.

FAQ image

How often should I book sessions?

This depends on your goals. Most clients come 1-2 times per week. This frequency allows us to see progress weekly. Some may come bi-weekly or monthly for maintenance, while others book more frequently for quicker progress or recovery from injury. Choose a frequency that best aligns with your goals.

Why Choose Me for your

Assisted Stretching

With my background in corrective exercise, not only do I help my clients achieve their flexibility goals, but I also help them to improve their muscle imbalances that are contributing towards their posture being out of alignment.

By not only stretching tight/overactive muscles, but also activating lengthened/underactive muscles, we can restore balance to the body.

I also have personal experience in overcoming poor posture and muscle imbalances in my own body, allowing me to have a greater sense of what my clients may be experiencing, as I have gone through this process myself.

When I first started my fitness journey, I had rounded shoulders, teck neck, and an anterior pelvic tilt. All of which contributed to aches, pains, and overall feeling of tightness throughout my body. Through corrective exercise, Self-Myo-Fascial Release techniques, and targeted stretching, I have seen dramatic improvements in my daily life and mobility.

TESTIMONIALS

What others are saying

"I highly recommend Jason!"

I worked alongside Jason for a short time at a place where we stretched clients. I had an injury during that time, and Jason was key in helping me not only treat it in the short term, but analyze the root cause. Jason put me on the path to treatment and recovery. As a body worker myself, I can’t say enough good things about how I have seen Jason work. He listens to and respects his clients and their needs. He approaches every person with empathy, and every session with determination. He can analyze your current state of wellbeing, while offering solutions that work for you and your lifestyle. Jason is constantly learning and seeking to improve his own understanding of the human experience, for his own benefit and that of his clients. I highly recommend Jason!- Carey Leibring LMT
